Benchmarking tools

Benchmarking apps shows the imaginative performance figures in terms of fps, charts, scores which inturn can be used to compare different android smartphones with different hardwares inside them. In general, the better the overall scores, the more seamless everyday performance will be, so it's worth checking what's out there in terms of benchmark apps

QUADRANT

Oldest and popular Quadrant Standard Edition tests CPU, I/O, and 3D graphics. After running several tests, you're required to submit the score to app's servers in order to see the results. Your overall score is shown in bar charts and compares it with other devices.

 ANTUTU

AnTuTu tests CPU, RAM, graphics, database, and SD card components and provides scores for each component as well as overall score. It's similar to Quadrant Standard but AnTuTu allows you to see all subscores. Once the test is completed, you can view your score in a nice bar chart next to other Android devices. As a fun option, you can also submit your score to see your device's world ranking.

LINPACK

Linpack is a benchmark that's been used to measure the CPU performance of some of the world's fastest computers. Now, you can use the same benchmark to test your Android The final score is given in MFLOPS and is a quick and simple test of your device's performance.

VELLAMO

Vellamo was developed by Qualcomm. It measures the Web browsing performance of Android devices in four categories rendering, javascript, user experience, and networking.

                               GL BENCH 2.7

Moving over to strictly graphics performance, the freshly-squeezed GLBenchmark 2.5 is probably the most comprehensive way to measure your GPU prowess, but you have to contact the developer to get it. A lot of manufacturers pair state-of-the-art multicore CPUs with last year's GPU generation, and it shows in such benchmarks.

                               EPIC CITADEL

Epic Citadel gpu benchmarking was created using the same tools and technology used to develop high-end console games, now delivered for Android devices!. results are shown as fps

GEEKBENCH 2

Geekbench provides a set of tests engineered to quickly and accurately measure processor and memory performance. Designed to make benchmarks easy to run and easy to understand, Geekbench takes the guesswork out of producing robust and reliable benchmark results

BENCHMARK PIE

Benchmark your Android device by calculating the Pi and compete your time with others Very usefull tool to check the CPU speed of different Android Devices, different ROMs on the same device
